Description

"Green of Japan" green tea GENMAICHA

Genmaicha tea (玄米茶) – Japanese green tea Bancha or Sencha is mixed with roasted brown rice (genmai), which may be popped (which is why Genmaicha is sometimes called "popcorn tea"), but this does not affect the final taste of the tea.

The finished tea has a light yellow color and a very mild taste of nuts and fried rice, which balances the bitterness of the tea. It is very popular with children and elderly people. Tea has little caffeine. Commonly used in Japan before breakfast. Perfect fit to settle our stomachs.

Genmaicha was originally considered a drink of the lower strata of society, but over time it became prestigious. It is now one of the most popular and interesting Japanese teas in the world.

Genmaicha can be mixed with Matcha tea powder (Matcha is Genmaicha).

Tea is accompanied by many stories.

One of the legends says that once a samurai servant named Genma, while preparing tea for his master, spilled some fried rice into his tea cup. At first, Mr. was heartbroken, but after tasting the reward - the taste was pleasant. Thus was born Genmaicha tea, which got its name from the servant's name.

Another theory is that expensive tea was mixed with inexpensive fried rice to reduce its cost. Thanks to that, not only the rich, but also poorer people could afford to buy it.

Health Benefits of Genmaicha Tea:

  • Antioxidants, such as carotenoids and vitamin C found in tea, help strengthen the immune system and remove toxins from the body. Green tea is much richer in antioxidants than black tea or even vegetables!
  • Green tea lowers blood pressure and is a proven tool in the fight against hypertension. Also, regularly drinking green tea reduces the development of heart diseases.
  • Thanks to catechin, which is a strong antioxidant, it helps protect against cancer.
  • Contains an active ingredient called theanine, which relaxes the mind and gives a sense of relaxation.

Tea suitable for drinking both before and after meals. Thanks to the lower caffeine content than other types of green tea, there are no restrictions on drinking this tea.

Method of preparation:

  1. Add green tea to the teapot.
  2. Never use freshly boiled water! Pour boiled tea over the tea leaves and cooled to the required temp. with water. Brewing time depends on the type of tea (see below).
  3. Pour the brewed green tea evenly into all the pre-prepared cups, which will preserve the taste and aroma. Never leave tea leaves in water! In warm water, the catechins break down and the proteins increase, which can cause stomach aches and the tea itself will be more bitter.
  4. Since we use the highest quality grade green tea, the same tea herbs may be present boiled three times (increase the draw time by 15 seconds each time)

Amount of tea leaves: 3-4 g

Amount of water: 150 ml

Water temperature: 90 C

Time: 30 sec. - 1 min.
