Description

"Green of Japan" Kamairi TAMARYOKUCHA

Kamairicha (Kamairi Tamaryokucha, 釜炒り玉緑茶) is green tea made in a non-traditional way for Japan. Unlike other Japanese teas, which are steamed to stop the oxidation process, Kamairicha leaves are heated using a kama (iron pan). This heating method is typical of China, and as a result, the tea acquires a mildly sweet taste of roasted nuts. Unlike in the process of making Sencha tea, the leaves are not formed into "needles", but take on a characteristic rounder shape.

Kamairicha tea has a mildly sweet taste of roasted nuts and a fresh aroma.

Since the leaves are heated, the amount of catechins in the tea is not very high, which is why there is almost no bitterness in Kamairika. The amount of L-theanine remains at a moderate level to give the tea its sweetness.

L-theanine has a positive influence on the nervous system and for brain activity:

🍵 helps maintain an alert feeling of relaxation

🍵 great mood and good feeling.

Region: Kumamoto Prefecture.

Cultivar (cultivar): Yabukita, spring harmony. Tea bushes are grown in direct sunlight.

What is KAMAIRICHA?

Kamairicha is a very rare type of Japanese tea. Produced in a non-traditional Japanese way, the leaves are replaced after picking to stop oxidation, which is typical of China but not Japan. The final product is a light-tasting green tea with a fresh aroma,

Method of preparation:

  1. Add green tea to the teapot.
  2. Never use freshly boiled water! Pour boiled tea over the tea leaves and cooled to the required temp. with water. Brewing time depends on the type of tea (see below).
  3. Pour the brewed green tea evenly into all the pre-prepared cups, which will preserve the taste and aroma. Never leave tea leaves in water! In warm water, the catechins break down and the proteins increase, which can cause stomach aches and the tea itself will be more bitter.
  4. Since we use the highest quality grade green tea, the same tea herbs may be present boiled three times (increase the draw time by 15 seconds each time)

Amount of tea leaves: 4 g

Amount of water: 150 ml

Water temperature: 85-90 C

Time: 1 min.
