Description

"Green of Japan" TAMARYOKUCHA Premium Nagasaki

Tamaryokucha 玉緑茶 (curly tea - twisted tea). It is made in the same way as Sencha tea, but the leaves are not shaped into "needles", but take on a characteristic rounder shape. Soft, sweet (umami) taste with notes of berry and almond, and the aroma of freshly cut grass.
Our Tamaryokucha is Saemidori ichibancha (spring harvest tea) from Norinsuisan Daijin Sho award-winning tea farmer Ohyama. It is an award from the Minister of Agriculture of Japan, which is one of the highest awards in the world of Japanese tea.

Because only the youngest and tenderest leaves are used for tea, the tea leaves are small and uniform in size. The color of the leaves is dark green with a shine.

Region: Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu.

Cultivar: Saemidori. Tea bushes are grown in direct sunlight. The leaves are harvested in spring.

Method of preparation:

  1. Add green tea to the teapot.
  2. Never use freshly boiled water! Pour boiled tea over the tea leaves and cooled to the required temp. with water. Brewing time depends on the type of tea (see below).
  3. Pour the brewed green tea evenly into all the pre-prepared cups, which will preserve the taste and aroma. Never leave tea leaves in water! In warm water, the catechins break down and the proteins increase, which can cause stomach aches and the tea itself will be more bitter.
  4. Since we use the highest quality grade green tea, the same tea herbs may be present boiled three times (increase the draw time by 15 seconds each time) or add 5 C.

Amount of tea leaves: 4 g

Amount of water: 150 ml

Water temperature: 60-70 C

Time: 1 min.
