Enjoy your afternoon with these crunchy, buttery, green tea cookies with matcha powder. The unique taste of Matcha in cookies is surprisingly satisfying!
YOU WILL NEED:
- 240 g of flour
- 2 teaspoons Matcha tea powder for cooking (leave a little for decoration)
- 170 g of butter (heated)
- 120 g of powdered sugar
- a little salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 50 g slivered almonds or other favorite nuts (to taste)
PREPARATION:
1. Mix flour with Matcha powder in a bowl.
2. Mix the warmed butter with a whisk with sugar, egg yolks and salt until a smooth mass is obtained.
3. Pour the flour mixture and nuts into the mixture little by little and mix very well. When the dough becomes thick, knead by hand.
4. Divide the prepared dough into two parts and form an oblong roll from each (diameter about 4 cm). Wrap the rolls in cling film and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes. The dough can be prepared the night before and baked the next day.
5. Cut the dough rolls into 7 mm thick slices with a sharp knife.
6. Bake in an oven heated to 180 C for about 15 minutes.
5. Decorate the cookies with Matcha powder or powdered sugar. Delicious!
